Tale of the Mournwitch

A life-sized ball-jointed doll, all but the hand details hidden from view by her clothing. still the bone witch/necromancer, carrying a spellbook with all of her reanimation, creation, and defence magics writ within.Mourn.
Mourn is an Automaton, having had awoken within a doll's body after an accident which rendered her flesh porcelain. She resides within a library, in which she had constructed an atelier to continue practising her work as a Magi. The people began referring to her as a "Dollwitch" shortly afterward, and the moniker stuck. However, Mourn took a title of her own, in the end.
She referred to herself as the Archivist, as that was her position under her Witch, before the Void Gate incident.
The Clockwork Core.
Due to her former Witch's fondness for antiquities, Mourn's Core Unit is powered by a clockwork key. During times of duress, Mourn can audibly be heard ticking as her Core stresses. She requires at least once-daily rewinds, otherwise she becomes extremely lethargic, or falls into a light comatose state if it's been too long between winds. This key takes the shape of a blade when not being used to rewind Mourn's Core, and shifts to this key when near her back. A circular indent is in the center of her shoulder blades, and only opens in the presence of her key.
When not being used to wind her Core, this key takes the form of an asymmetrical sword. It vaguely resembles half of a pair of scissors. The handle is black and matte, with leather wrappings on the hilt. The blade itself is a silvery white with a lavender-esque shine.
The Atelier.
Laplace had inherited the Winter Sanctum's Library from her Witch, who had made one too many voyages into the Void. The Void ended up claiming her Witch in the end, and passed the title to her eldest Automaton, Mourn. Once the realization had been made, she set to work adjusting the Library to suit her needs, which included making a private area within the Library. This became known as her Atelier, though she sometimes refers to it as the "Lamenting Sanctum."
Her Wisps.
Mourn, since becoming Witch, noticed an uptick in those departed wandering through the Void Gate within the Crypts of the Library. As they resembled Will'o the Wisps as they formed, she eventually started referring to them as Wisps. These Wisps, once on this plane, gradually began to develop forms of their own, outside of the spectral balls of light.
The first looked like faceless casters, whom she called her Archmagi. These became the protectors of her Library.
A handful took the form of small faekind, whom she deemed her Sprites. These became protectors under the Archmagi.
Others looked like robed figures, whom she called her Acolytes.
Some resembled knights, which Mourn named her Knightshades.
More resembled lightly-armored individuals, whom she called Squires.
Yet more took an appearance like paupers, who she called her Pages.
‡———————————‡When Mourn isn't working, it streams. Or sleeps. A lot. Not too much, thankfully. The amount of sleep it gets oft gives the dollwitch a tired appearance, much to her chagrin. But she's working on it. Slowly but surely.”But, enough about this Witch. As mentioned prior, your time is almost up here, darling. Unless.... you wish to stay? After all, «this place can be a home for you, too.»
Think it over, and let me know.”
