A life-sized ball-jointed doll, all but the hand details hidden from view by her clothing. still the bone witch/necromancer, carrying a spellbook with all of her reanimation, creation, and defence magics writ within.Gravemourn.
Laplace Gravemourn is a Dollwitch, of her own creation. She chose to leave her biological body due to it failing her; and so her original body was replaced with porcelain, her soul imbued within a clockwork core. Because of this, Gravemourn requires her core to be rewound a few times a week, depending on how hard she exerts herself. One of her echo-dolls is tasked with this, as her keyhole is located on her back.The Clockwork Core.
Gravemourn's soul was interred within a Clockwork Core prior to her placement into the doll's body. She requires at least thrice-weekly rewinds – otherwise she becomes extremely lethargic, or falls into a light comatose state if it's been too long between winds. A circular indent is in the center of her shoulder blades, and only opens in the presence of her key.
Anxiety manifests in the form of "stutters" in Gravemourn's clockwork, an audible "t-t-tick" from her chest, where her core resides.The Winter Sanctum.
Gravemourn took up residence within her realm's Library, acting as its caretaker and Archivist. This Library is underneath the space she's named her own - The Winter Sanctum.
She scarcely leaves it, choosing to puppet echo-dolls of herself to interact with the populace who enter her Library. These echoes look like smaller versions of her true form, with only those who she holds closest having the ability to visit her in the inner-most part of the Sanctum.The environment outside is magicked to be always snowy, hence its name. In tandem, the interior of the Sanctum is magicked to be always warm, fueled by undying embers within the hearth.The Sanctum is also partly a shop. On days where the second moon lingers in the sky during the day, the Sanctum is transported to the nearby town; and Gravemourn sets up shop for other magi, adventurers, and the common folk. When the first moon rejoins her sister, the Sanctum returns to the Library, and Gravemourn to its duties as the Archivist.‡———————————‡When Mourn isn't working, it streams. Or sleeps. A lot. Not too much, thankfully. The amount of sleep it gets oft gives the dollwitch a tired appearance, much to her chagrin. But she's working on it. Slowly but surely.”But, enough about this Witch.
